I attribute my many varied interests to my ADD brain, and writing allows me to express those interests.  I publish several blogs and write e-books, after spending years writing columns about pets, family, travel, and human interest for newspapers and regional magazines.  My e-books include 4 related to dogs and cats and a book on rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease I have lived with for many years.

I credit the adoption of my daughter, Elisa, in Guatemala in 1974 with planting the seed of becoming a writer in my brain.  My diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis at age 35 gave me the determination to succeed.  My first published article appeared in “Vista:  Focus on Hispanics,” a magazine section in newspapers, nationwide, in 1979.  That success was followed by travel columns in several newspapers.

After raising 6 children in Middle Tennessee, my husband Jym and I now live on  Florida’s Gulf Coast.  We share our lives with an extremely spoiled Dachshund- Pitbull mix and a senior cat who controls everyone.

  • I’m a born and bred Southern gal and proud of it!
  • I’m a sucker for any child or animal in need or distress.
  • Married forever to the same wonderful man, I’d do it all over again!
  • I’m proud of the men and women my children became.
  • I miss my daughter, Elisa, who we lost in 2019.
  • Getting to know people from other countries and cultures is a joy to me.
  • I love good Mexican food and enjoying it with an ice-cold Dos Equis is even better!
  • I don’t like injustice. I don’t like cheaters.
  • I believe people can do or be whatever they want to be if they are willing to work for it.
